1950 annual Town Meeting, Article 30: adopted a conditional $1,000 appropriation if the Healy retirement act became law, at an annual pension rate of $1,200. The complete recorded motion spans printed pp.35–36.
This is an adopted-motion record, not merely a warrant proposal. It does not expressly state acceptance of c.241, so the statutory acceptance question remains open. The act’s §2 validates qualifying 1950 annual-meeting action against warrant timing; the §3 acceptance requirement remains a separate question. The original state PDF corrects the former wrong-chapter transcription.
Remaining record needed: A Clerk-certified record establishing statutory acceptance under §3, or a documented determination that the conditional Article 30 action satisfied it; actual pension-payment records remain separate.

2022 Acts, c.245, §1 replaces §3(d); read that replacement with the original act. The 2020 act establishes a board of 5–25 directors: no more than 12 appointed by the Select Board, the remainder by the Trust board (§4(a)). After initial staggered appointments, terms are five years; no holdover without reappointment; maximum two consecutive terms unless waived by the Select Board (§4(b)). Select Board removal requires reasonable notice and a public hearing unless waived in writing (§4(c)). Annual accounts/report go to the Select Board and Town Meeting; all corporation funds are in Town Treasurer custody (§4(d)). Annual service plan/budget and revolving-fund release review appear in §3(h). A Trust action cannot impose a Town financial obligation without a majority Town Meeting vote or Select Board vote (§3(c)).
Section 8: effective upon passage; no post-enactment acceptance ballot is specified. Section 3(b) separately requires Selectmen approval and Town Meeting authorization for town leases/licenses.

State instrument: chapter, session year, type (Act or Resolve), original text and approval date where verified.
Local authority: the home-rule petition/request vote, if applicable, with the final motion as adopted and the Clerk’s certified result.
Acceptance: where the act requires it, the exact election or Town Meeting, ballot question, certified result and resulting effective date.
Later changes: each amending or repealing state act, together with any conditions on that change. A local bylaw amendment is not automatically an amendment of a state special act.
Implementation: deeds, appointments, licenses, appropriations or other actions required by the instrument, kept separate from enactment.
A warrant and Finance Committee recommendation can help locate an issue, but do not prove the final adopted language or Town Meeting result. “Not recovered” means the supporting record is outstanding, not that the vote did not occur.
Coverage and provenance
State acts/resolves and related historical instruments identified from the 60-entry town appendix, State Library Canton-title search and 1997–2026 Legislature annual title indexes. Not an exhaustive inventory of all statewide provisions mentioning Canton. The register includes original and repealed instruments for history. It does not certify a complete current-law consolidation, every earmark, every private law, or all later judicial interpretations.
