BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES
 May 10, 2005
 MEMORIAL HALL

Present: John Connolly, Chairman, Avril T. Elkort, Vice-Chairman; Robert E. Burr, Jr.,
Clerk; Victor D. Del Vecchio, Member; Gerald A. Salvatori, Jr., Member, William T.
Friel, Town Administrator; and Judy Nelson, Administrative Secretary

Location: Salah Room, Memorial Hall

Meeting was called to Order at 7:00 p.m.

Reorganization of the Board: Pursuant to Town of Canton Administrative Code Policy
Number II, Section VII Organization of the Board the following Motions and Votes were
taken:

Motion was made and seconded for Robert E. Burr, Jr. for Chairman:
VOTE: 4-0

Motion was made and seconded for Victor D. Del Vecchio for Vice-Chairman:
VOTE: 4-0

Motion was made and seconded for John J. Connolly for Clerk:
VOTE: 4-0

Police Deoartment - Swearing in of Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Detective Positions:

Chief Berkowitz gave a brief description of thc individuals who had been promoted. Each
individual was pinned and congratulations were made. Patricia Shcrrill was pinned as
Lieutenant, Robert Gooley was pinned as a Sergeant, and Eric Wade was pinned as a
Detective for the Police Department.

Recreation Commission: Update: Jeff Kayior, Director:

Mr. Kaylor updated thc Board on the upcoming Summer Program for 2005. He noted that
the following: Bolivar Swim Program would run from 06-25 through 09-02-2005;
Dolphin Swim Team will begin on 06-30-2005; Sports Program for Children ages 4 to
seven will have two Sessions: the first from 07-11-2005 through 07-15-2005. The Second
Session will run from 08-01-2005 through 08-05-2005 this will include baseball,
basketball, and soccer. These are just a few to mention, the remainder were included in
the booklet attached hereto and therefore made a part hereof.
