Shaw's Supermarket - 300 Villa2e Shoppes

Ms. Carol Bugbee ofPoyant Signs came before the Board representing petitioner.
She stated the petitioner, Shaw's, is the parent company of Osco and they are opening an
Osco Pharmacy inside Shaw's. There is signage now on the building, on two awnings
and on the directory sign, all of which read, "Shaw's Supermarkets." They are requesting
to take down the Shaw's signage on the building, on the awnings and on the directory
sign and replace it with signage that would read, "Shaw's Osco Pharmacy." The existing
signage is 242.76 s.f. in total on the building and the proposed signage would be 250.7
s.f, an increase of7.94 s.f. The change in signage also includes the addition ofa darker
shade of orange, which would increase the total amount of colors to five.

Mr. Pando asked if the awnings were permitted.

Ms. Bugbee stated she believes they were.

Mr. Pando stated he has a problem with more than four colors.

Ms. Bugbee stated that is Shaw's corporate logo. She stated they do have an
alternative design which maintains four colors.

Mr. Fitzgerald stated the petitioner should find a way to stay within the 242
square feet they already have.

Mr. Carroll stated the colors should be kept to four and the size should remain the
same. He asked if the petitioner is amenable to that.

Ms. Bugbee stated they could work with that.
