Chairman Jeremy Comeau called to order the Planning Board meeting of
August 5, 2o15at7:00 P.m.
First Item on the Agenda - CARDINALS CORNER, 1181 Washington Street
RE: Modification of Approved Subdivision Plan (Richard Staiti, Attorney)
Mr. Houston recused himself from the hearing and left the room.
Attorney Staiti introduced himself, Matt Smith, Steve Larkin, and Paul Brodmerkle. The
Applicant had a minor modification regarding Conservation Commission and
stormwater management. There are still 9 4ots and there is no change to the subdivision
or the road layout.
Mr. Brodmerle explained that he had an issue with the infrastructure and the
stormwater management system that had been designed. He did extensive research and
the drain went in a northerly direction and the pipe should be 18" not 15" in order to
cover the loo year storm. Also, there needs to be another fire hydrant added.
Matt Smith explained that this has been a very difficult site for stormwater because of
the ledge and rocks on this property. They used a very different design that has been
used in the past, and this type of system is recommended by the DEB.
Matt Smith and Paul Brodmerkle had a different opinions and disagreements on the
drainage that they have been working to come to a mutual understanding and solution
to the drainage issues.
Mr. Jenkins stated that has a major problem with Washington Street only having
manholes. And further, why are the engineers using a loo year storm, it makes no
common sense to him.
