Tilden House presentation— George Comeau, Canton Community Preservation Committee
George Comeau came before the Board to discuss the plan to restore the Tilden House. At Annual Town
Meeting, voters supported the use of CPC funds to restore building. He explained that the Friends of the
Little Red house, a group that he is involved in, have been trying to raise money and restore the
property for a long time. He expressed an interest in remaining part of the process. Mr. Comeau
inquired if he could be the BOS representative to work with the Building Renovations Committee. His
goal is to have permission to work on the project. The Board agreed to allow George Comeau to
continue to be part of the process of renovating the Tilden House.
Motion was made to allow George Comeau to be involved with the Tilden House restoration due to his
knowledge of historical buildings and in particular the Tilden House. He will be allowed to attend
meetings and provide advice to the BRC if necessary.

Bolivar Pond Rowing Program —Janet Maguire, Parks and Recreation Director and Nick Pirelli, Assistant
Parks and Recreation Director
Janet Maguire, Parks and Recreation Director, provided the Board with an overview of a new program
that was being considered for water recreation at Bolivar Pond. She provided information on Row
America, a company that the Parks and Recreation Department had been in communication with
regarding rowing lessons at Bolivar Pond. The Board had questions concerning ADA regulations, and
insurance coverage as well as the water quality at Bolivar Pond. The BOS noted that it would like Town
Counsel to consult on any agreements that are made with an outside vendor. Janet noted that she had
some research to do and would be back before the Board at its next meeting if she could finalize the
program. Otherwise she did not object to waiting another year for program implementation.
