A motion was made and seconded for the committee to meet as possible the third Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. VOTE: 7-0 _ AGENDA SPRING LANE A letter was introduced from Dr. Robert Clark requesting a no left turn onto Spring Lane from Chapman Street. DISCUSSION Butch told the committee that speed is a statewide problem, that the town's population is in excess of twenty thousand, that Canton is centrally located to many major routes and that in order to receive State and Federal funds, roads need to be open to all. The committee felt that there are restrictions on that road now and people ignore/disobey the signs. Lt. Sherrill felt if Spring Lane were closed (no left turn) there would be gridlock on Chapman Street. Sarah Martin who is a resident of Fairview Road felt it would worsen problems on Fairview. A motion was made and seconded not to recommend a no left turn sign on Chapman Street onto Spring Lane since it will not resolve the problem. VOTE: 7-0 Mr. Trotta recommended against a green arrow turn light onto Dedham Street from Washington Street because of the costs.

People use Nick's Restaurant parking lot as a cut through This intersection was designed by the State. Norfolk County Engineering is to look at the whole intersection. Mr. Trotta would wait on any change until Engineering study is done. Then the Town would probably need Mass Highway's approval. MOTION: to make no recommendation until Norfolk County Engineering completes its study. VOTE: 7-0 DEDHAM STREET INTERSECTION LIGHT More cars per hour are now going through with new traffic light system If pedestrian light gets pushed, it may take a couple of cycles PLEASANT & WASHINGTON In order for the left green arrow to come on, the intersection needs at least two cars waiting. Mr. Trotta is against speed bumps because they create more noise. The Traffic Study Committee is only an Advisory Committee to the Board of Selectmen. y Mr. Janko will forward some suggestions to committee especially regarding speed limits. The Committee made a motion that no action is needed on Mr. Guiney's letter of 23 Charles Drive since the sight line can be improved with trimming of bush.
