the public meeting. Planning Board, Michael Mitcheroney, Clerk, Published: 6/28/18;
7/5/18.,,
Mr. Brodmerkle explained that he was before the Board last year for a Scenic Way
Determination and was approved for removal of a portion of a wall at 110 Indian Lane. He is
before the Board tonight for permission to remove portions of the stonewall for the creation
of shared driveways on the remaining Lots #2, #3, #4, #5, and Lot #8. The Scenic Way By -
Law is for the protection of trees and stonewall on the private way. The rounding on the
driveway openings were approved by the Fire Chief to make it easier to access the driveways.
There will be four (4) driveway openings; three (3) to be shared; one (1) for the 10 -acre
parcel; and one (1) access for the Open Space.
They had a Form A to create 6.8 acres in the rear of these lots for a non -developable parcel;
and Lot #8 consists of a ten (1) acre parcel for a single family home.
Ms. McDermott stated that she has seen the property and is very concerned with the
disturbance on #110. She feels it is a difficult lot to construct the "septic in the front", and
the clearing of trees has already taken place and the area looks very sparse now.
Mr. Brodmerkle st4ted that the plan was for a minimal amount of removal of the stone wall.
Sepp Bergschneider of the Historic Commission stated that he is before the Board on behalf
of the Wall. This wall dates back to the first settlers, and why do you need so much of the
wall removed? You need to consider the historic significance of this wall and this area which
connects Canton to Stoughton.
Willard Thorn of 144 Indian Lane stated that he built his house across the street from this
project thirty (30) years ago and would like to know what does the Scenic Way mean if the
Board is allowing the removal of the wall?
