TOWN OF CANTON PLANNING BOARD MINUTES WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2023 6:30 P.M. MINUTES Present: Patricia McDermott, Chair David McCarthy, Vice Chair Kathy McCormack, Clerk Jim Quigley, Member Also Present: Thomas Houston, Professional Services Corporation Karen Lawlor, Administrative Assistant Chair McDermott called to order the Planning Board Meeting of February 15, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. A motion was made by Chair McDermott and seconded Ms. McCormack to open the public meeting of February 15, 2023. All in Favor, Motion Approved 4-0. A motion was made Mr, Mr. McCarthy and seconded by Mr. Quigley to open Item #1, 598 Washington Street (Design Review Board Application). All in favor, Motion Approved 4-0. - Lauren Sciarappa, Applicant Ms. Sciarappa introduced herself and explained she worked at Gallery in Cobbs Corner and has opened her shop where K&K Landscaping had been. The Board reviewed her sign and Chair McDermott stated that she loves the idea of the sign, but it is very hard to read and if she could make the font larger and change the sign from aluminum to wood. She was agreeable to the idea and will be back on March ist with her new sign. — (Gene Manning, Interim Town Planner) - Mr. Manning introduced himself and explained that the Warrant Article on AirBNB is not a zoning article and was requested by the Town Administrator, First Responders, and the Select Board. This was support because there are no inspections on the property done now and the Fire and Police Departments are having issues with renters. The property owners would have to register their property with the Town Clerk's Office and follow inspection guidelines.
