Select Board Executive Session Minutes January 31, 2023 Memorial Hall, Salah Meeting Room 801 Washington Street, Canton, MA Present: Chair John J. Connolly I Vice Chair Lisa R. Lopez Clerk Thomas W. Theodore I Christopher J. Connolly I Michael C. Loughran Also Present: Charles Doody, Town Administrator and Laurie Bogue, Administrative Secretary. Also present Jody Middleton, Human Resource Director, Randy Scollins, Finance Director Executive Session to consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real estate (land acquisition), if the Chair declares that an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the public body; to conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with non -union personnel or to conduct collective bargaining sessions or contract negotiations with non -union personnel (Police Chief, Town Planner) was called to order at 6:46 PM, Jody Middleton, Human Resource Director was before the Board to present a version of the current Police Chief contract, to which the Board had input. A discussion was had. At the Board's request, Ms. Middleton will meet with the Police Chief and suggest revisions and report back to the Board. Mr. Doody, presented a letter from Norfolk County offering the Town to participate in an additional 2% COLA for retirees. It was noted this was not a mandatory participation, however the Board felt it was in the best interest for the retirees. Motion was made by Mr. Theodore that the Board authorize the Town to participate in the Norfolk Country 2% COLA for retirees for FY 23, seconded by Mr. C.
