Neponset Valley Transportation Management Association
Canton: TWO Royall Street Shuttles
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS GRANT
PROJECT SUMMARY REPORT
February 2023
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Neponset Valley TMA is currently operating the two Royall Street shuttles connecting
businesses on Royall Street in Canton to nearby transit. One shuttle launched in November
2021, and the second shuttle launched April 2022. Originally, both shuttles were scheduled to
launch in June 2020, but were delayed due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the nationwide
shutdowns which began in March 2020. The shuttles began operation as the Royall Street
businesses started to return to their offices. Shuttles service 4 transit stations: Commuter Rail
at Route 128/Amtrak Station (Providence/Stoughton Line), and 3 MBTA Red Line (Quincy
Adams, Mattapan, and Ashmont). Ridership projections were adjusted as all office buildings
are currently on a hybrid schedule with employees coming into the office only 1-2 days per
week on a voluntary basis.
PROJECT PARTNERS
The original project business partners identified during the application period for Community
Connections grant included:
▪ Boston Mutual

February trends lighter due to 19 business days, Presidents Day holiday, school vacation
